The antiviral activity of lauric acid and monolorin was first noted by Sands and co-workers (1979) and later by Hair Holzer & Kabara (1982). Specifically, Hairholzer and Cabara showed that the mannoleurin cell managed to reduce> 99.9% of the 14 human RNA and DNA enveloped viruses in humans. This manoulorin worked by separating the virus envelope. ۔ Thormer and co-workers (1987) confirmed the ability of laloric acid and monovlorine to inactivate the virus by dispersing the cell membrane. Sodium lauryl sulfate has been shown to be able to dissolve and reject viral envelopes (Pirate 2000, 2002).

  1. Prevents the maturation of the virus:

Genital virus (JUNV) is an effective agent for Argentine hemorrhagic fever. In comparing saturated fatty acids from C10 to C18 against JUV infection, Bartolotta and colleagues (2001) showed that lauric acid was the most active barrier. It was concluded from mechanical studies that lauric acid inhibits the late maturation phase in the JURV replication cycle. JUNV is an envelope virus-containing glycoproteins embedded in the lipid bilayer that forms viral spikes from transmission electron microscope images. It’s like NCoV-2019.

  1. Prevents viral protein binding to the host cell membrane:

Horning and co-workers (1994) showed that in the presence of lauric acid, the production of the infectious vascular stomatitis virus was stopped in a diet-dependent and reverse manner. After the elimination of lauric acid, the antiviral effect disappeared. They observed that lauric acid did not affect the synthesis of viral membrane (M) proteins but prevented viral M proteins from binding to the host cell membrane. Although lauric acid is mostly reported in coconut oil, capric acid (C10) and monocaprine have shown promising activity against other viruses, such as HIV. Thus, coconut oil has at least two fatty acids, and their monoglycerides have antiviral properties. Conclusion According to the whole above discussion, we reached a very comprehensive point. We concluded that coconut oil is very helpful against Covid-19 because we became able to fight against increasing our immunity. We need to use it until we are safe from Covid-19 because this is an epidemic disease, no guaranty we remain safe from it.
