Natural Products That Is Beneficial To Eye Disease Prevention and Eye Health

Generally, maintaining a healthy diet and healthy lifestyle is usually suitable for the eye. Taking the right amount of nutrients, vitamins, minerals (antioxidants) and trace elements help delay/prevent severe eye conditions like:

  • Cataracts (clouding of the natural Lens)
  • Age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
  • Glaucoma
  • Dry eyes
  • Poor night vision
  • Blastomas

And other serious eye conditions.

For your eyes to be ultimately healthy and functional, you need many types of antioxidants and eye minerals. These antioxidants include but not limited to:

  • Vitamins A, C, E
  • Lutein
  • Zeaxanthin
  • Beta-carotene
  • Zinc
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids

And other trace biochemical elements which fight free radicals.

I will specifically tackle the topic of the day, which is 'Fish '. Fish is one of the natural products that can offer your eye the optimal health, prevent, and delay the onset of serious ocular conditions and also help reduce the severity of existing vision problems.

‘FISH’

There is a reason why being called ''fish-eyes'' is a good compliment. Being called a fish-eye means that your eyes are so good that it 's twice better than the average human 's sight.

Fish reduces the onset and development of age-related macular degeneration, among other things. Age-related macular degeneration or AMD is among the common cause of blindness among older people.

Now here is the scientific back-up. Studies have shown that taking two servings of fish per week reduces the incidence and onset of AMD because of its omega-3 fatty acid content.

Diet rich in Omega-3 fatty acids makes one 40% less likely to develop AMD. This omega-3 fatty acid is also essential to heart health and cell functionality.

An omega-3 function also prevents the abnormal division of cells which causes blastomas (cancers).

Omega-3 fatty acid is mainly found in Tuna, Salmon and other oily fish and people who take these are 40% less likely to develop AMD compared to those who don &# 39;t.

Look around you; those living in coastline areas hardly develop age-related macular degenerations or other dangerous eye issues. Fish eaters have the lowest risk of AMD.

Studies from the Archives of Ophthalmology examined some men and women aged 60 to 80 years old. These people were fed with enough fish. After the examination, over 39% of those who ate more fish were less likely to come down with AMD compared to those who ate the least fish.

This study exposed the fact that changing your diet and including more foods rich in omega 3 (fish) reduces your chances of ocular degenerations, especially AMD amongst others.

Also, fish contains other trace elements of vitamins; these vitamins protect the photosensitive cells of the retina responsible for day and night vision. Adding more fish in your diet won &# 39;t only prolong the usage of your eyes, it will also benefit your heart, your life and your well-being.

If you are someone who doesn 't take any fish; its high-time you started making proper adjustments because AMD may be lurking around. The eyes are the window to the body hence joking with this sensitive organ of the body is &# 39;t to anyone & # 39;s best interest.

Adjusting your daily intake of Omega-3 may also benefit other systemic conditions of the body because the health of the eyes also reflects the general health of the body.
